Welcome

Dear colleagues and friends!

As you may remember, the focus of the Congress UHRS 2020 scientific program was planned to be on one of the most intriguing nosologies of dermatology, Alopecia Areata. We have done a lot of work to prepare for the Congress, including the development of national protocols for management of patients with Alopecia Areata, which are very much awaited by our doctors. This has justified the decision to hold a meeting with our Ukrainian colleagues under the auspices of the School of Alopecia at the Virtual National Trichology Symposium UHRS on November 21, 2020, devoted to the presentation of National Clinical Guidelines for management of patients with Alopecia Areata (2020) developed by the Ukrainian Hair Research Society.

Clinical protocols are intended to assist in making rational decisions in various clinical situations, are an informational support for good clinical practice based on evidence of the efficacy of certain medical technologies, drugs and organizational frameworks of medical care. And the availability of objective information about Alopecia Areata for patients will allow them to avoid irrational ways finding the cause of the disease and ambiguous treatments, which is often seen and does not allow to receive adequate treatment from a specialist.

It is important that the Ukrainian Clinical Guidelines for management of patients with Alopecia Areata are based not only on the analysis of protocols of international and national levels, the results of the World Consensus The Alopecia Areata Consensus of Experts Study: Results of an International Expert Opinion on Treatments for Alopecia Areata (2020), adapted to the domestic pharmaceutical market, but are also the result of scientific research conducted in Ukraine, which has justified the need to expand the criteria for selection and control of the therapy efficacy, which was not previously taken into account in the presented treatment protocols.

The program of the Symposium will discuss in detail the diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms for managing patients with AA depending on the patient's age, clinical form, comorbid conditions, severity and activity of the process. We will be happy to share our experience with both domestic and foreign colleagues, therefore, the minutes will be published in three languages - Ukrainian, Russian and English, the printed version will be available to all participants of the Symposium. However, in order to comply with all the essential anti-epidemic requirements for such activities during the quarantine period, the format of the Symposium provides for an online meeting. Participation in the National Trichology Symposium UHRS 2020 will be confirmed by a certificate and the scoring of 10 certification points.
